Autumn Winter 2024 style trends

Ali Lennard, our owner and designer and all around superstar, is taking us through the key trends for Autumn Winter. You'll see these reflected in our new season styles, available from 21 February 2024.

We have included some of Ali's inspiration for the season ahead; which she has interpreted into Philosophy Australia's design signature for commercial ready to wear designs that will work for season after season.

Colour

  • Winter white Expensive neutrals and quiet luxury. Head to toe.
  • Black (on black) Mix up the qualities, whereas every other head to toe colour look requires a matching cloth or complete tone match.
  • The full coffee spectrum Milky, Mocha, or Black. Every colour from Beige to Chocolate, which we haven’t had on trend for a while, don’t say Brown though as its not a flat colour.
  • Old gold Bright yellows through to mustards, but most user friendly in the softer vintage metallics.
  • Viva Magenta Pantone’s colour pick. Bright and cheerful. Looks best on fabrics with texture.
  • Dusty Pink A complimentary tone to Magenta but not mixed back with it. Tone on tone.
  • Swampy greens Not emerald, or jewel tones, but earthy. Grey based khakis mixed with chartreuse.
  • Shades of grey Back to tailored or smarter looks, not casual. Marled tones rather than flat colour.

 Fabric

  • Skins Pleather, Suedette, sheepskin, fur but all faux, and looking freshest in unnatural skin palettes. We’ve had pleather for a while, suede finish cloths are newest.
  • Luxe Subtle shine, bling and plush touch. Crushed velvet, and shantung textured satin.
  • Knits Fluid like silk or compacted like wool. Ribbed still particularly relevant.
  • Prints Geometric is still strong, and chain variations are the newest trend. Ombre and blurred on all types of fabrications and base designs.

Looks

  • Logo mania Branded intarsia logo prints
  • Relaxed tailoring shirts and pants, tailoring but relaxed, longer lines, cardigans, PJ dressing continues, layered up, jeans and a nice top, sportswear reimagined.
  • Key Shapes Tank, tee, column and shirt dresses, blazers, midi skirts, bandage tops, cargo pants
  • Details Drawstrings, almost no hardware, even zips are seamless, collars on all, feminine frills, layered effects, dressed up hoods.

You can trust Philosophy Australia to interpret the key trends in a timeless manner for the way the Philosophy Australia woman likes to dress. Plus a key focus on easy wear, easy care, wear anywhere, with our designs, fabrics, colours and styles.
