Thread Together - a charitable event night

On Tuesday 11th March Anica and I had the privilege of being invited along with other brands and fashion stakeholders to an inspiring and eye opening event hosted by @thread_together 

Anthony and his team are achieving amazing things, and should be applauded. It was truly impressive to hear all the ways in which they are making a difference, and we had a fun opportunity to get in on the action, with packing and sorting donations.

My two take aways; How are brands getting their stock inventory so wrong to have this much overstock? And no wonder that Mrs Public doesn’t know her size when size differences between labels was as staggeringly extreme as we noticed.

The good thing though is that volunteers are working tirelessly to sort and utilize these brand new donated garments which would have historically ended up incinerated or in landfill; now giving them a second chance to fulfill a need.

With a delicious mexican buffet and a panel chat with @shopify @ausfashioncouncil @theiconicau and @bondibornaustralia it was truly a wonderful evening.
