Being one of only a handful of companies across the nation who make ALL 100% of their garments right here in Sydney, we know that we are already leaps and bounds ahead of many others in terms of how we operate. We are so proud of that.
We have recently joined a government program called BETTER BUSINESS PARTNERSHIP Success through Sustainability (BBP) and have been accredited for our involvement and dedication to improve our sustainable practices.
- 90% of all production we make, is made to order, reducing excess manufacture.
- Every Style is designed with practical, feasible, economical and sustainable production methods in mind.
- Every person in our supply chain can be named. Less than 15 people are involved in the product realisation from sketch to hanger.
- All steps are processed from our manufacturing hubs in Sydney. 100% made by Australians.
- Every fabric we offer is available across a multitude of styles, to ensure best yields.
- Having a fabric library that we utilise year-round, means we have selected the best mills and suppliers, built relationships with those mills and can buy in substantial quantities to limit the need for consistent shipping, and emissions.
- Our cloths of choice are ones we have tested for durability and stretch recovery ensuring you can love, wear, wash and repeat, with confidence.
- Our laundry care labels, state cold water washing and no tumble drying for environmental and product longevity.
- We do not add additional plastic packaging, by not wrapping garments individually, and send our products out on recycled hangers to our wholesale customers, which we encourage the reuse of.
- Our online customer orders are sent out in compostable bags from Hero Packaging, a company whose values align with our own.

Philosophy Australia supports local manufacturing and prides itself in its quality. We value accountability from our suppliers and contractors, and seek to be completely transparent in our chain of supply.
Philosophy Australia works with manufacturers who have impeccable reputations for their quality, practice and ethical standards. We have a couture make practice, with one seamstress per garment. We create our collections with makers that we’ve known for years, and partner with Australian and global suppliers who share our ethical principles. Philosophy Australia believes in a culture of kindness, treating our customers, suppliers, makers, staff and community as family.
